Studium General: Getting to Know More Deeply Smart City IoT
Jakarta, June 7, 2024 – Telecommunication Engineering Undergraduate Program Telkom University Jakarta held a Studium Generale activity at the Jakarta Design Center (JDC), this activity was dedicated to students of the Telecommunication Engineering Undergraduate Program Telkom University Jakarta to explore Smart City IoT which is one of the applications with various things they learned during college. This Studium Generale raised the theme of “Smart City IoT: Improving Citizens ‘Quality of Life'” which has recently become a widely discussed trend. By presenting two speakers from the industrial world, namely the Acting Head of the Jakarta Smart City Management Unit Dr. Andrie Yuswanto. S.Kom., MT., CEH., ECIH., and Head of New Ventures Technology Incubation at PT. XL Axiata Tbk, Novi Arian, ST,. M.S.M. “Jakarta Smart City which is transforming into the first Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) in Indonesia that focuses on developing a smart city based on six pillars or dimensions of a smart city,” explained Dr. Andrie in delivering his material. The six pillars mentioned are:
- Smart Governance
Integrated Digital Public Services, Citizen Complaint Channels, Online Budget Access, Data-Based Policies, etc.
- Smart People
Citizen Engagement in Service Determination Process, Public Dashboard, Job Vacancy Portal, etc.
- Smart Mobility
Integrated Transportation System, Online Transportation Tickets, Transportation Information Services, Parking Applications, City Maps to Support Mobilization, etc.
- Smart Environment
ICT Based Flood Control, Smart Waste Management, Smart Energy, Sanitation Management, etc.
- Smart Economy
Startup Ecosystem Development, UMKM Go Onboard, E-Commerce Utilization, One-Stop Payment Integration, and others.
- Smart Living
Jakarta Safe City, Health Information and Service Portal, Free Public Wifi, Smart Tourism, and others. Continued with material on Smart Society 5.0 for Indonesia presented by Novi Arian. Discussing smart solutions for Development Strategy for Smart Society 5.0, such as:
- Smart Society 5.0 – Improving People’s Welfare, Strengthening the Economy, Effective Institutions, etc.
- Technology for Humanity – IoT-based preventive check-ups to extend healthy life expectancy, Energy usage monitoring to reduce greenhouse gas effects, etc.
- Providing Smart Service – Smart Healthcare, Smart Energy, Smart City, Smart Mining, and others.
- Developing Smart Things – Developing Internet of Things (IoT) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, etc.
- Strengthening The Connectivity – Mobile broadband, Backbone, FTTH, Core Network, etc.
The materials above are of course very closely related to Telecommunication Engineering, therefore it is hoped that students who attend this studium generale activity can take as much knowledge as possible so that it can be used in the future.
