sejarah perkembangan teknologi radio dari masa ke masa

Radio technology has continued to develop since its inception was discovered by Heinrich Hertz in the 1880s. Now to use the radio we do not have to rely on analog wave modulation techniques (frequency and amplitude), but can digitally via the internet.

So, are you starting to get curious about its history? Let’s just go straight to the history of the development of radio technology from time to time…

What is Radio?

Radio is a technology that utilizes radio waves to convey information in the form of sound (audio) or images (visual). The technique of radio technology is to systematically modulate electromagnetic energy waves and then spread them through space. This wave modulation can be through frequency (FM) or amplitude (AM).

What’s Up with the History of Radio Technology Development?

The forerunner of modern radio has been around since the 1880s thanks to the discovery of Heinrich Hertz, this German physicist succeeded in proving the existence of electromagnetic radiation which later became a medium for transmitting radio signals. However, the use of radio was only traced in the early 1900s. At that time, the use of radio was still limited to maritime use. At that time, this technology was used to send messages with Morse code from ships to land or vice versa. Sometimes radio was also a medium of communication between one ship and another to ensure coordination.

1. Initial use for war soldiers

Over time, the use of this technology has become more widespread. In addition to civilian ships, this technology is also used by warships. One of them is a warship belonging to the Japanese Navy in the Tsushima war in 1901. Radio was actively used by soldiers to spy on their enemies, namely the Russian navy. This technology also played a role in World War II. One of them was Germany, when the German submarine cable was cut by England. This technology also became an alternative for the Japanese army. With the existence of a radio trunking system, this technology is indeed considered an effective communication tool during the war.

2. What is a radio trunking system?

Simply put, a trunking radio system can be understood as a system that utilizes a small portion of a large communication path together. This system will not interfere with the communication rate of a larger communication path. This is because automatic switching will move the user to any channel that is not used.

Radio technology systems are considered safer because only users in one group can use the available channels. Unlike conventional systems that still allow people from outside to enter and listen to conversations in the channel. In addition, with radio trunking interference will be reduced because only users in the group can use the channel.

With a system that strongly supports security, it is not surprising that trunking radio is used by institutions with a high level of confidentiality. One of them is the police. Several government institutions also utilize the trunking radio system for confidential communication.

3. Radio trunking goes digital

Along with the development of the era, the radio trunking technology system has also developed. Similar to radio in general, radio trunking is also slowly shifting from analog waves to digital. In Indonesia itself, the migration of analog to digital radio trunking systems has begun, which occurs because the digital radio trunking system is considered more efficient and cost-effective when compared to the analog type.

Radio technology communication continues to develop from time to time. Several systems that can optimize the use of this technology continue to emerge. One of them is the radio trunking system which provides a high level of confidentiality for those of you who want to start using this system.
