Studium Generale “The Future of Cybersecurity: Artificial Intelligence in Threat Detection”
Jakarta, June 28, 2024 – Telkom University Jakarta’s Bachelor of Information Technology Study Program held a Studium General themed “The Future of Cybersecurity: Artificial Intelligence in Threat Detection” and presented two great speakers, namely an Operator Vice President – PT Telkom Indonesia, Elysabeth Damyanti and also a Head of the National Cooperation and GCI Assessment Team, BSSN, Agria Rhamdhan. The event was held at the Jakarta Design Center (JDC) building and was attended by all students of the Undergraduate Information Technology Study Program at Telkom University Jakarta, the enthusiasm and passion of the students who came to fill the JDC room were very visible to listen to the material on AI that would be presented by the two speakers. The first material presented by Elysabeth was material on how to face security and safety challenges in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Elysabeth explained the meaning of AI and its governance, the risks that can be caused by AI, the AI life cycle starting from planning->design->development->absorption, and how to implement good and correct AI governance. With the material presented by Elysabeth, the participants of the public lecture can better understand how the Ai cycle is managed. Continued with the material presented by Agria regarding Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. “The use of AI can help us collect a lot of data in a relatively short time, for example, we can collect data that has the same pattern as negative content spread in cyberspace, so that we can follow up on sites that have negative content patterns,” said Agria. In this session, Agria explained more about security and cyber threats that can arise from the use of AI. In addition to the benefits of using AI, AI can also cause various types of crimes in the digital world. For example, the use of AI in a negative way is using AI to do Deepfake to do face recognition on a device that has important data in it. Cyber attacks are getting cheaper and easier to do as technology advances, on the other hand the need to survive is getting more expensive and more complex. Therefore, use AI technology wisely so that the benefits of using AI can be felt, not only for yourself but also for others around us.
