As a prospective student, of course you can’t wait to be in college. However, before that, make sure to know first about the world of college. College is not the same as when you were in school, so by knowing this article, it is hoped that you can prepare yourself for college.

1. Study Program
A study program is a major that is taken when studying, and there are various study programs that you can consider when choosing the major that you will take when studying later.
For example, in science technology at Telkom University Jakarta Campus, which has several study programs such as Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, and Visual Communication Design. These various study programs have different disciplines.
Therefore, before going to college, make sure you know what study program suits your interests and talents. Choosing the right study program can increase your enthusiasm for learning.
2. Courses
Do you have to be smart to go to college? Basically, everyone is smart and going to college can sharpen your mind. This sharpened mind will be sharp, thanks to the various courses studied in each study program.
If in school, courses are like subjects. There will be various knowledge that you learn from each study program. In addition, usually each study program has different course materials, because it is adjusted to the applied discipline.
3. College Assignments
Understanding of college will also be sharpened by the existence of college assignments. The assignments given during college will be different from those when in school. Why is that? This is because the assignments given must be answered with scientific answers.
The answers given should not be arbitrary. In fact, it would be better if the assignment included answers from various references such as research, journals, and so on. In addition, assignments are also a very important assessment when studying.
4. Lecture Hours
When you were in school, you might have been used to leaving at 7:00 and returning home at 16:00 at the latest. However, lecture hours will not be like that. Lecture times can be held from morning to afternoon, afternoon, even until night at random times.
These lecture hours usually adjust to the time available from the lecturer and the arrangement from the faculty. Therefore, do not be surprised if later you will find lecture hours that always change.
5. Semester Credit Units or SKS
In the world of lectures, the term SKS or Semester Credit Unit is also often mentioned. This will not be found when you are in school, because the SKS system only exists in college. SKS is a study load that you must take during your studies later.
If you take a college with a bachelor’s degree, then usually the credit weight that must be taken is 144 credits. If all of these weights have been met, then you can carry out your thesis and graduate as a bachelor.
